Answer

Tamil Bible verse of the day: a daily verse you can share on WhatsApp

The தமிழ் வேதாகமம் (Tamil Vedhagamam) app opens on a Tamil Bible verse of the day — one verse each morning on a photographic backdrop, which you can share to WhatsApp status as a full-screen 1080×1920 image with one tap. The verse is the same for everyone on a given date, drawn from a curated set of more than 130 promise and comfort verses from the Tamil Old Version, and it works entirely offline, in Tamil script or Tanglish.

What you see each morning

The Today tab is the app's front door. It shows the date in Tamil, one verse set on a photograph — dawn light, sea, hills, a night sky — and your reading streak beneath it. Tap the verse and the app opens the chapter it comes from, so the day's verse is a doorway into scripture rather than a fortune cookie. A bookmark button saves it to your list.

Where the verses come from

The daily verse is chosen from a hand-picked set of more than 130 verses — the promises, comforts and commands Tamil Christians most often carry with them. Psalms, John, Proverbs, Romans, Isaiah and Genesis are the most represented. The wording is the Tamil Old Version, the translation read in Tamil churches, so the verse you share is the one your family will recognise.

கர்த்தர் என் மேய்ப்பராயிருக்கிறார், நான் தாழ்ச்சியடையேன். சங்கீதம் 23:1

How the verse is picked without a server

Most verse-of-the-day services fetch today's verse from a server. This app has no server: it derives the verse from the date itself, so every phone shows the same verse on the same day, and it still works on a flight or with data switched off. The photograph rotates on the same daily schedule, from sixteen backdrops chosen for how well white Tamil text reads over them.

Sharing to WhatsApp status

  1. Open the app; the verse of the day is the first thing on screen.
  2. Tap Share. The app renders the verse, its reference and the site address onto the day's photograph as a 1080×1920 PNG — exactly the WhatsApp status frame, so it fills the screen without borders.
  3. Pick WhatsApp (status or a chat), Instagram, Messages, or Save Image to keep it.

Any verse in the Bible can be shared the same way from the reader, not only the daily one. Nothing about you is in the image and nothing is uploaded; the picture goes straight to the app you choose. See what the app does with your data.

Tamil or Tanglish

In Tamil mode the verse and its reference are in Tamil script. In Tanglish mode the same verse appears in English letters — karthar en meypparaayirukkiraar — useful when the people you share with speak Tamil but do not read it. The share card follows whichever mode you are in.

A verse a day, a chapter a day

The verse is meant to start something. Tapping through to its chapter and reading to the end counts as your reading for the day and keeps your streak alive, so the morning verse and the daily reading habit reinforce each other.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Tamil Bible verse of the day the same for everyone?

Yes. The app derives the verse from the date, so every phone shows the same verse on the same day, with no server involved.

How do I get a Tamil Bible verse as a WhatsApp status image?

Open the Tamil Vedhagamam app, tap Share on the verse of the day, and choose WhatsApp. The app produces a 1080×1920 image of the verse on a photo backdrop, sized for WhatsApp status. You can also Save Image.

Does the daily verse need internet?

No. The verse, the photographs and the sharing all work offline. The app’s only network requests are for a small schedule file from tamilvedhagamam.com (which verse to show on which day) and, for days given a photo, that photo; it sends no personal data and uses its built-in list and backdrops when there is no connection.

Can I get the daily verse in Tamil and English letters?

Yes. In Tamil mode the verse is in Tamil script; in Tanglish mode the same verse is shown in English letters. The share card follows the mode you are in.

Which translation is the daily verse from?

The Tamil Old Version (பழைய மொழிபெயர்ப்பு), the traditional Protestant Tamil Bible used in Tamil churches.
